Hot Bats on Opening Day
Driving in runs was the name of the game yesterday as First Fuel's team had a number of great hits during the game. On defense little got past our strong infield. Normando Mason, in his pitching debut, stopped a surprising number of hard grounders aimed at the mound. Jacob Ripple had a great stop in left field while Avery Williams's strong arm kept base runners in place. Right fielder Avery Dutcher belted the ball on his two at bats. The infield played extremely well with players calling the ball and fielding with authority. Patrick Keegan, third baseman, played a great game as well. Nate Kidd, the team's shortstop, had a great day at the plate and made a couple of significant plays. Gunnar Grethen-McLaughlin was the team's able bodied second baseman had a strong bat and first baseman Robert Bruneay showed the team what a little Charlie Hustle was all about. Tyler Beaudry was the team's strongman behind the plate and tagged more than a few players making a break for home.
